David A. Peto, DDS, MSD
Dr. David Peto became a dentist to help people and a periodontist because he felt that was the best way he could help patients get their smiles back. He is a highly skilled and knowledgeable periodontist who believes in delivering the highest quality dental care to his patients. He is very experienced in all phases of modern periodontal therapy and dental implant placement, using advanced techniques and materials.
“I am a great believer in minimally invasive therapy,” says Dr. Peto. “I keep up on the latest technology to ensure my patients are being treated at the highest standard of care.”
Dr. Peto is very experienced in procedures that restore the health of even the most deteriorated dental conditions. Dr. Peto is thorough in his approach to the treatment process. This ensures his patients’ satisfaction with every aspect of their dental experience. “As a periodontist, I am a perfectionist,” says Dr. Peto. “I want the patient to achieve an excellent outcome just as much as they do.”
Education and Advanced Training
Dr. Peto has pursued the highest levels of clinical and research training in periodontics. He completed his training in Periodontics and Implant Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center where he completed several years of post-doctoral education in gum disease, dental implants, and the administration of IV and oral conscious sedation. Before becoming a periodontist, Dr. Peto practiced general dentistry for two years after the completion of his General Practice Residency at the University of Southern California. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto.
Honors and Awards
Dr. Peto is a Diplomate of the prestigious American Board of Periodontology. This distinction signifies he is a board-certified periodontist who has made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty.
Dr. Peto also received the distinguished Balint Orban Award from the American Academy of Periodontology for his original research in periodontics.
Teacher and Researcher
Throughout his career, Dr. Peto has taught and supervised future dentists in the practice and techniques of dentistry. He has served as clinical faculty at the University of California Los Angeles and was on staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He is also an award-winning researcher on dental tissue engineering on the molecular level.

Dr. Peto is married and has two beautiful daughters. When he’s not working, Dr. Peto enjoys playing piano, working out, and spending time with his family.
